"EMS personnel carry America everyday. Gymflesh®
carries EMS personnel forever."
Gymflesh®
developed its Sisyphus First Do No Harm Preparedness Relief
Project™as a free, no-cost-to-you, emergency financial aid option
for financially-restrictive EMS service providers. Gymflesh®
assumes all program and travel costs. Qualifying EMS facilities
may request one of the two Making The Everyday Hero Athlete®
EMS programs: The 1-Day Comprehensive Edition, or the
Build-Your-Own Edition.
"First, Do No
Harm" (Latin, Primum Non Nocere) is the essential motto
of the medical profession (ascribed to the ancient Greek
physician Hippocrates). All medical practitioners and healthcare
associates promise to "First, Do No Harm" to their patients.
Gymflesh® believes
that EMS personnel share in upholding this age-old golden
standard of healing, hope, humility, and honor.
The name of
this Gymflesh®
project is based on Sisyphus, a man from Greek mythology, who
was commanded by the gods to roll a huge boulder up a hill for
all eternity. But when he reaches the top, the boulder rolls
back down immediately. And Sisyphus has to quickly run down hill
and roll it back up again. Then again the boulder rolls back
down without his control, and he’d have to push it back up,
knowing the boulder would soon return down. Pushing upwards
repeatedly. Rolling back down for all eternity. Over and over,
nonstop. But Sisyphus never gives up. Each day and night,
whenever, regardless of weather and conditions around him,
despite sweat and tears, mood or muscle, he pushes his rock.
Like EMS staff do, because they must, with honor, integrity,
dedication, persistence, against all odds, and with humble
pride. Gymflesh®
and its EMS instructors want to be there to help you get your
jobs done safely, correctly, efficiently. — EMS hands helping
EMS hands.
Since 9-11, Gymflesh® has donated goods and services
valued at over USD $1.5m to American military, law
enforcement, fire service, and EMS personnel.
Gymflesh®
and its professional EMS service staff are committed to
help those less-financially-abled EMS personnel to keep
on pushing, always. The basic criterion is that the host
EMS facility must exhibit extreme circumstances of
financial loss, immediate need, and emergency
conditions. Please write
