The Gymflesh®
Sisyphus Stop, Drop, and Roll Preparedness Relief Project™
“Firefighters
preparing firefighters to keep on pushing, always, and in all
ways. We stop
what we’re doing. We drop in on you. And we roll out the red
carpet of free services.”
Gymflesh
®
developed its Sisyphus Stop, Drop and Roll Preparedness
Relief Project™ as a free, no-cost-to-you, emergency
financial aid option for financially-restrictive fire
departments. Gymflesh®
assumes all program and travel costs. Qualifying firehouses may
request one of the three Making The Everyday Hero Athlete®
firefighter programs: The 1-Day Comprehensive Edition, or the
2-Day Limited Edition, or the Build-Your-Own Edition.
The name of this Gymflesh®
project is based on Sisyphus, a man from Greek mythology, who
was commanded by the gods to roll a huge boulder up a hill for
all eternity. But when he reaches the top, the boulder rolls
back down immediately. And Sisyphus has to quickly run down hill
and roll it back up again. Then again the boulder rolls back
down without his control, and he’d have to push it back up,
knowing the boulder would soon return down. Pushing upwards
repeatedly. Rolling back down for all eternity. Over and over,
nonstop. But Sisyphus never gives up. Each day and night,
whenever, regardless of weather and conditions around him,
despite sweat and tears, mood or muscle, he pushes his rock.
Like firefighters do, because they must, with honor, integrity,
dedication, persistence, against all odds, and with humble
pride. Gymflesh®
and its fire service instructors want to be there to help you
get your jobs done safely, correctly, efficiently. — Firefighter
hands helping firefighter hands.
Since 9-11, Gymflesh® has donated goods and services
valued at over USD $1.5m to American military, law enforcement,
fire service, and EMS personnel.
Gymflesh®
and its professional fire service staff are committed to help
those less-financially-abled firefighters to keep on pushing,
always. The basic criterion is that the host firehouse must have
an annual budget of $15,000 or less (excluding grants) or
exhibit extreme circumstances of immediate need and emergency
conditions. Please write
